It is a introducion to OVID: design and implementation of a video-object database system, this piace of text will explain about video-object data model and presents the design and development of a prototype video-object database system called OVID, which is based on this model. The video-object data model offers several noteworthy features, which enables the sharing of common descriptive data among video-objects. Also, the model supports operations for composing video-objects. The OVID system provides various tools such as VideoChart for browsing and inspecting video-objects, VideoSQL for adhoc querying, and a video-object definition tool. These tools enhance the functionality and usability of the OVID system. Overall, the paper highlights the importance of the video-object data model and demonstrates its practical implementation through the OVID database system, offering efficient management and manipulation of video-objects.
